I've said this before, and I'll gladly reiterate my hot take:

Your website should not have a light/dark mode toggle.

Please just make it follow the system preference instead. If there is a reason your site is so special that someone would want to use a different color scheme for it than everything else on their system, you should still make it possible to have the site follow the system color scheme. Not even Reddit does this right 😄
