The new #Apple rules for #AppStore and #Sideloading suck. What a surprise /s.
Not as bad as the rumors (no 27% fee, notarization isn’t full review so we may get things that weren’t allowed like emulators or porn), but still bad.
It benefits companies like Epic and Meta who want to abuse and track since they won’t have to be reviewed or comply with the rules, but has very few benefits for users. Makes it worse than what we have now. No real sideloading of .ipa. (Never get anything from a Meta/Facebook store, make'em keep using App Store to at least comply with your tracking choices) Hopefully we’ll see an open source fdroid-like app store tho
I say they’re intentionally doing it the bad way so people become against sideloading. Just give us .ipa file sideloading without this 3rd party store bullshit.
TLDR: No ipa sideloading, only installable through (approved) 3rd party app stores, still distributed through Apple systems even to 3pt stores, devs can choose one or multiple stores when publishing their app
