Due to the impending shutdown of my old server, I'm moving here from my account @deoxys314. And so a new #Introduction is in order! I'm a software developer with a degree in #Geology and #GIS. I mostly work in #Python and #CPlusPlus. My personal interests include #Dinosaurs (#Stegosaurus is my favorite), #LEGO, #mtg, #MagicTheGathering, #Math, #cooking and #Reading, to name a few.

A few years ago, we bought the #LEGO 10268 Vestas wind turbine for work. @zeratul2099 put together a circuit board with an ESP32, with which we can control the motor according to the local wind forecast. I’ve been doing this for 25+ years. I used to have a tenured university position, and moved to industry about 7 years ago. Industry is just like academia, but with fewer students, fewer grants, and more secrecy.

Anyone want a BrikBook MacBook cover for I think the 2013 model? Yes that is the Black Widow logo. Will post to anywhere in Australia, free, I just don’t think it will get picked up if it goes to the op shop.
